How to Properly Wear the Uniform

To properly wear the uniform, you must first ensure that you have all required uniform components and that each item is clean, serviceable, and properly prepared for wear.

Class "A" Uniform Items
  • Cadet ASU Class "B" Grey Shirt
  • Cadet ASU Class "A" Coat
  • Cadet ASU Trousers
  • Issued White Undershirt
  • Black Oxford Dress Shoes
  • Black Tie (males) or Black Neck Tab (females)
  • Issued Long, Black Socks
  • Cadet Beret with issued brass or cadet rank insignia
Class "B" Uniform Items
  • Cadet ASU Class "B" Grey Shirt
  • Cadet ASU Trousers

  • Black Oxford Dress Shoes
  • Issued Long, Black Socks

Once you have the correct uniform items, they must be assembled and worn properly. The reference guides below show the proper appearance and placement of uniform components.

These uniforms represent the traditions and history of the United States Army and Army JROTC. Treat the uniform with the respect it has earned.

Male Class "A" Uniform

Proper Way to Wear the Issued Beret

At the start of your time in JROTC, you will be issued a beret. If you need a replacement, one may be reissued to you. The reference below shows the proper setup and wear of the issued beret.
